What THEY are saying (Newcastle)
So I usually have a look round the upcoming opposition message boards to get an idea on what they think of us ahead of our fixture.

This weeks forum of choice:

http://www.newcastle-online.org/nufcforum/index.php/topic,97225.0.html

One of my personal favourite's being:

"We need four points from this lot and Watford, I really don't rate Bilic and think they're there for the taking.

On a side note is there a less knowledgeable set of fans in the league than West Ham?"

"Going to this, going to smack a few Hammers. FM"

It seems a large proportion of their supporters think 3 points will be more than possible for them tonight.

Judging by the WHO poll, a lot of us on here think that we'll get 3 points as well...

Re: What THEY are saying (Newcastle)
Yeah but we have to understand that most teams see us a chance to get three points. It's always hard to accept but it's no different to us saying we expect to go up there and win (for the record I think it's anyone's tonight). Like them, we are one of the clubs who will be fighting it out for a potential mid-table spot and will be seen as beatable to most clubs in the Premier League, as most fans have that self belief.

As for the knowledgeable thing though, unless he's been reading this forum, I don't know what he's basing that on. I think the majority of our fans are very knowledgeable bar the occasional bellend, but which club doesn't have them?

Nothing out of the ordinary. We say exactly the same thing whenever we go away.

Nothing to see here.

Re: What THEY are saying (Newcastle)
Possibly the most deluded set of fans in the country but I can see why they fancy 3 points.

When we play at St James, I always think we can win.

First goal is massive tonight and if we get it, I think we could get 3/4.

Evening game under the lights, new signings, return of AC and a lot of beer, so hoping UP will be rocking tonight!

Re: What THEY are saying (Newcastle)
I've visited lots of other team's forums before to see what they're saying about us when we're a talking point in the media. The ones who stood out as despising us the most was always Reading. That one I could never understand. I guess it stems back to Pardew but I never saw that mentioned. It was almost fanatical preaching the way they would talk about their hatred for us. They genuinely considered us rivals and judging by the way their fans have goaded us in games gone by, it's in the fanbase's consciousness to actively hate us. Real strange lot, they are. It's actually made me actively dislike them though which is even sadder.

After reading their message board a lot of the fans say they need the points but most think they will lose

Absolutely. If they are relying on that then they will come very much unstuck.
